This is a finely knotted
elegant 10x13.3 Antique Persian Lavar Kerman
hand woven in the 1930s.This rug is in
Very Good condition . There are
no stains, no holes or tears, and all the
edges are original. with normal care this rug will last
another 30 years. The wool is very soft and
the colors are absolutely gorgeous. A great
rug for a dinning Room, family room, or a

RAVAR (LAVAR) is a small town
120 miles from
KERMAN. The western
trade designation 'LAVAR' is an
incorrect form of the name
RAVAR, the weaving center
situated in the
southeast of IRAN.
RAVAR (LAVAR) has long been the
origin of some of the finest
Persian rugs. The historical
explanation appears to be that,
during the wars of the late 19th
century, much of KERMAN was
destroyed, and a large part of
the population (among them many
carpet weavers) fled to RAVAR
(LAVAR).
RAVAR (LAVAR) rugs usually have
extremely detailed designs
executed with high craftsmanship
and made to last a lifetime. |
